Aquascapes Pools & Excavating builds custom inground vinyl liner and fiberglass pools throughout Northern Kentucky, including Florence, Ft. Thomas, Ft. Mitchell, Independence, and Alexandria across Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties. We are family-owned out of Morrow, Ohio, and we keep all excavation, equipment, and labor in-house — no subcontractors.
Northern Kentucky is hill country, and that shapes nearly every pool project here. The land rises steeply back from the Ohio River, which is why so many of the region's best-established neighborhoods sit on genuinely sloped lots with mature trees and long-settled grade. It is beautiful ground to build on and unforgiving of companies that only know how to install a pool in a flat, prepared yard.

Kentucky handles this differently from Ohio, and knowing which office to approach matters. Residential permits in Kenton County — covering Ft. Mitchell and Independence — run through Planning & Development Services of Kenton County, which publishes its own residential pool checklist. In Campbell County, covering Ft. Thomas and Alexandria, permits go through Campbell County Planning & Zoning and Building Inspections. Kentucky requires a compliant safety barrier around residential pools. We handle the permitting process and work directly with the right department for your address.
Yes. Northern Kentucky is an established part of our service area, and we work with the Kenton and Campbell county permitting offices as a matter of routine.
Almost certainly. Hillside builds are among the most common projects we take on, and retaining walls and terracing are our own in-house work rather than a subcontracted add-on.
Slope and access usually decide it. A fiberglass shell has to be trucked in and craned or rolled into place, which steep or narrow drives sometimes rule out. Vinyl is built on site and fits where a shell cannot. We assess access first.
Site work is a larger share of the total on a hillside — excavation, walls, and drainage all scale with the grade. We are upfront about that at the consultation and give itemized numbers rather than a headline price that grows.
